John made my mum and me feel so welcome, and we felt safe there. The room and shared spaces were clean and comfortable. His personality really makes the place, and I’m looking forward to visiting again. Sorry we missed saying goodbye in person. I’ll make sure my mum books the Glendeveor for our next trip. Just remember, it’s a B&B run by a very kind man, not a hotel.

The location is great, the room was spotless, breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic. I got very ill in the middle of the night, and John was wonderful during the emergency. Alex helped us afterwards. I can’t say how much we appreciated having them there through such a difficult situation. It’s an amazing place, and we’ll be back.

Breakfast barely changed over the five days, with the same things served each morning. More options, maybe hash browns or something else, would have helped. The facilities in the room were very basic, and the room itself felt much smaller than I expected for a standard double. The corridors are so narrow that two people can’t walk side by side. We were in Room H at the far end of the building, reached through six doors and up two steps, which was awkward with luggage. Housekeeping was disappointing too. The dirty sheets weren’t changed, the toilet wasn’t cleaned after service, and I had to leave a note asking for the bathroom to be cleaned the next day. They didn’t even clear the dust from the floor. I don’t think they understand what standard room cleaning should involve. I thought I’d booked a hotel, but it turned out to be a bed and breakfast. If I’d known, I would have chosen a guesthouse instead.

This is my second time staying here. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are lovely, and the breakfast is excellent!

For the price, this place is hard to believe. It’s spotlessly clean, even in the shared areas, and there’s room to cook. Breakfast was good and the staff were so helpful. It costs almost the same as a hostel dorm in the centre, so I’d definitely stay again. 5/5
