Folly Hotel

The atmosphere was very calm, and I found free parking beside the hotel. It’s only a three minute walk to the beach. I’ve known North Berwick and been coming here for about 30 years, later bringing my three daughters too. This will absolutely be the first hotel I check for vacancies next time. Thank you, Folly.

Very basic, though very clean, and the staff were extremely polite and helpful when I asked. The price was good for an overpriced town, and the location is excellent for golf enthusiasts.

Candice went above and beyond to get us to a wedding on time after our car’s clutch failed, with us still a mile from the hotel and not much time to spare. She was amazing, and we had a lovely stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of tea and coffee, and the beds were super comfy. Breakfast was lovely too. I prefer poached eggs, but the scrambled eggs were tasty. The hotel is in a lovely spot in beautiful North Berwick. I’ll definitely be back.

A great no-fuss hotel. My room was very clean, I slept well, and I plan to stay again. It was quiet, and there were more snacks in the room than at some very expensive hotels. I would’ve eaten them all if I didn’t have a specific diet. Free overnight parking is a few hundred metres away. The station for trains to Edinbrugh is only minutes on foot, and the anytime return cost £8.80 and took less than 30 minutes. I came by car because long train journeys make me anxious, and I was meeting my friend who lives up here. I took the 10.20pm train back alone on Saturday; it was quiet, which was great for someone anxious and nervous like me. Next time I plan to stay here and get the train from Wigan.
