The room was too hot at night because the hotel controls the heating and there’s no way to adjust it. The bathroom floor heating is automated too, so you can’t switch it on when you actually need it. On arrival, I found hairs in the bath, shower and toilet. They did clean it properly later, but that was a rough start. There were just two sockets, both a long way from the bed, and the ceilings felt low for me at 182 cm. Mobile coverage was almost nonexistent on both O2 and Three. Wi-Fi was advertised at 25+ Mbps, but during our stay it only managed around 4-14 Mbps. The pizzeria, café and spa are presented as hotel facilities, though they’re separate businesses, which felt misleading. At least communication was excellent, with fast replies over WhatsApp. The bed was really comfortable, and the Parisian Garette room felt cosy. Staff at the nearby café were friendly and the cakes were nice, though the pastries were cold, so I wouldn’t recommend those. For a place listed as 4 stars on Expedia and 5 on Google, it fell well short of what I expected. I personally wouldn’t stay here again.

The pub across the road was a real bonus. Friendly staff, a welcoming feel and plenty of good options on the menu made it a nice place to unwind in the evenings. Our room was clean, cosy and had what I needed. The quirky decor and thoughtful touches made it comfortable and memorable. The hotel also makes a handy base: nearby towns and several of Norfolk’s best beaches are only a short drive away. Breakfast was the one downside. We knew what was included before booking, so I’m not complaining, but it could be better with overnight oats, a protein snack, fruit salad or something besides pastries. We’d happily stay at Dial House Hotel again. Thanks for a great trip.

The food was delicious and the ambience lovely, though I did think it was a bit odd that they wouldn’t warm a sausage roll for us at breakfast. That’s where the service lost a star. We’ve stayed twice, in the Africa room and the Parisian Garrett, and both were lovely. The Garrett was our favourite. There’s a nice pub a short stroll away, serving good food, and the location is great. I’d still come back to try the other rooms. On our second visit, a young family in the room next door were clattering about and making a lot of noise from early in the morning. We didn’t get the rest we’d expected from a ‘luxury’ stopover costing nearly £200 a night. I’d have thought there might be some kind of policy for children, perhaps a lower age limit.

We had such a fabulous time at The Dial House for my husband's birthday and a visit to the Blickling Christmas lights. The Italian Palace room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, just right for us. We ate at the Laid Back pizza restaurant and really enjoyed it. The bakery downstairs is a clever link for breakfast, and having everything in one building is an original setup that works very well. It was an amazing stay. We’re already planning to come back and try another of the lovely rooms. Thank you!

Breakfast was the highlight for me. The ground floor bakery gives you two items, a drink and a piece of fruit, and the quality was sublime. We stayed in the Days of Raj room with our family. They made up a footon for our 2 year old and a cot for our 6 month old. My wife and I had a massive, really comfortable bed. The bathroom was amazing too, with a huge bath and shower. We’ll be back!
