We’re looking forward to booking our next mini break. The Ship Inn Mundesley is right on Mundesley beach, and it’s spotless and fresh throughout, with lovely rooms, very comfortable beds and pillows, and generous portions of wonderful food. Dogs are welcomed, not just allowed: ours had a cushion bed, food bowl and a “Houndbag” with treats, poo bags, a ball and a list of favourite dog walks. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. We even added a night in a superior double to finish the visit with a bang. Don’t stay here if you’re trying to diet or lose weight, you won’t manage it.

We all agreed we’d come back in summer, when we could enjoy the lovely weather and location even more. Three friends and I drove to Mundley for Sunday lunch and picked this charming place. Though it was overcast, our table looked out over the beautiful North Coast. My traditional British Sunday Roast was a generous serving and fairly priced at £17.95. Kieren and Jess were warm and attentive, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
After lunch, we could walk straight down the side of the pub to the beach, such a perfect spot. My partner and I stopped in on Sunday with our two dogs. The car park was busy but still had room. The restaurant was full, so we were offered the bar or outside benches with a great beach view. We picked the lovely little room at the back of the bar, which has three tables. It was so dog friendly, with water bowls out and dogs at every table. Staff were friendly and chatty. My partner had sausage and mash, and I had the steak burger. Both were delicious and well cooked, and arrived quickly despite how busy it was. The table beside us said their roasts were great too, with huge portions. Two drinks and two meals came to around £40, worth every penny for the food quality. Can’t wait to visit again!
There’s plenty of outdoor seating with a sea view and some handy parking. The little play area outside was a bit run down, but my son and the other children enjoyed it. We had a lovely meal, with good portions and a nice selection of food and drinks. I’d highly recommend the sausage and mash. My son’s fish and chips were generous and tasted great.
I booked another visit as soon as I got home after another wonderful winter weekend break, just as good as last year. The rooms are cosy and comfortable, with great decor and a contemporary beach house feel, plus lots of thoughtful welcoming touches. It’s very dog friendly, the staff are brilliant and couldn’t be more helpful, and the hearty food is tasty and great value.
