I’ve stayed here plenty of times, and the service has always been superb: friendly, quick, and attentive. The location is handy for visiting my son at the University of Nottingham Jubilee Campus, with his halls about a five-minute walk away. The rooms are generally a decent size, well looked after, and rarely give me any problems. WiFi is good, including eduroam if you ask your offspring at the uni about it, and the rooms are quiet with good rates. Breakfast is usually fine, with plenty to eat and great fried eggs. The sausage is the weak point, so I’d skip it. The cereals, toast, danishes, fresh fruit, and yoghurt are all good. The rooms are comfortable and clean, though they’re starting to show their 1990s age. Some rooms have no sockets by the bed and only one or two elsewhere, while other rooms do have them, so it’s luck of the draw. Bathrooms are well equipped, mould-free, and have good showers. Even with those minor issues, every stay has been a very positive experience.

Some of the staff are helpful and nice, and the communal spaces are spacious and pleasant. The rooms are dated, but very clean. They can get really hot, and the tower fan barely helps. Air conditioning would be useful, or at least better fans. I also haven’t enjoyed the breakfast. Everything tastes a little strange to me, though that may just be personal preference. I’m less certain about staying again after a recent check-in. This time I dealt with a different staff member, who said the parking policy had changed even though I made my bookings at the same time. When I said I’d been told parking was free the previous week, I felt they were implying I was lying. I also didn’t like being threatened with parking tickets when I asked why it had changed between Friday and Monday. Parking was advertised as free when I booked. I’ve added this after staying again, and lowered my rating because reception can be rude and introduce fees that were advertised as free at booking.

Easy and comfortable, and the location worked well for us. Free parking was a plus, and remote check-in meant we didn’t even need to call at the desk. We didn’t eat there. Breakfast looked pricey compared with somewhere like Premier Inn, but that’s up to you.

The little touches made our birthday weekend feel special, especially the decorated room and the staff singing happy birthday at breakfast. Everyone we met was friendly and professional, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. From check-in to check-out, the service was brilliant. We had a lovely bank holiday stay at the Jubilee Hotel and Conferences and would recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, memorable place. Thanks to the whole team for making the weekend such a delight.

The breakfast was tasty and included, with a good range of food and drinks. I also liked the free water and glasses in reception. Staff were friendly and helpful. The flexpass app wouldn’t open the hotel doors for us, but they gave us a keycard without any trouble. The hotel sits on a university campus beside a lovely lake, with great views and wildlife. Our room was large and had everything we needed, though it was quite hot. The fan helped, but air conditioning would have been better. The shower bracket was a bit low, so I had to bend to wet my hair. Parking is free, which is great, although the car park was full when we returned on Saturday night and cars were parked along the curb. We enjoyed our stay, thought it was good value, and would stay again and recommend it.
