Mama's Inn Boutique Guest House

The room was fun and comfortable, with lots of nice little details, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We only booked breakfast for one of our two nights at first, but liked it so much that we came back the next day too. Compliments to the chef! They also provided a secure parking spot for a small extra fee. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back if we're passing through Nottingham.

The rooms were unique, which we loved, and the paris room was especially beautiful. Everything felt nice and cozy, and it's only about a 10-minute walk to the centre. In heels, though, it felt more like 20 minutes lol. We had a few issues. The bed in the paris room was quite hard and uncomfortable, the showers weren't great, and one had mold. The owner was rude and blunt when asking us to move the car. We had a taxi waiting and explained that, asking if we could move it when we got back, but he still made us move it. The taxi then had to wait and we paid extra. The woman also conned us out of £10 for parking: we had two cars and paid £30, though it should have been £20.

I wouldn't recommend booking this accommodation. Money was taken from my account fraudulently. When I phoned to ask about it, I was rudely told that my booking, which I have an email confirmation for, was incorrect. Because I had reported it to the bank and the woman would be charged, she said she was cancelling my booking. I have the email trail and think the owner's problem may be with Hotel.com, not potential paying guests.

The area was very noisy and didn't quieten down until around 4am, though the hotel can't really do much about that. The room wasn't quite like the pictures, but it was still to a good standard. It took three rings of the bell to get into the hotel, and the chap who checked us in seemed pretty uninterested. Even so, I'd still choose places like this over the bigger budget chains.
