Novotel Nottingham Derby

This was my second stay here, and both visits have been good and reasonably priced. It’s easy to reach from the motorway and there’s plenty of parking. The room and bathroom were clean, comfortable, and well presented. Breakfast was quite good, with a reasonable choice and enough seating.

Exactly what we wanted: a great price, free parking, and friendly staff. The hotel was spotless, with a large comfortable bed and a great shower. Breakfast was very reasonably priced, and there was more food than we could eat. My dog was welcome for a small charge.

The rest of our party had a good stay, but we didn’t have the same luck. Our room smelled strongly of smoke, there was no shower gel, and a large clump of hair was behind the bottles. They offered us another room, but it was 11pm and too late for us to move. On the first morning, nobody told us we could choose how we wanted our eggs cooked and have them made fresh. There was also just one plug socket by the bed, on one side only, with no USB slot, so two people couldn’t both charge their phones there overnight.

You’ve got a nerve charging people, after taking thirty pieces of silver to house illegal migrants. And to those paying mugs praising the place, it’s taxpayers’ money you’re living off. 1200/2000 migrants have been through that hotel. Locals lost their jobs. You’ve got a nerve, Novatel. It needs levelling, along with the Best Western opposite. Disgusting.
