The Cottage Hotel

The main drawback was the cold bar area, and my room wasn’t very warm either. There was a portable heater, but it didn’t seem to work. Even so, I’d be happy to stay again. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I loved my cottage. The bed was really comfortable, the shower was large, and it looked out over a little garden that would be lovely in summer. I had an evening meal, which was hot and home-cooked.

It’s a lovely little village area with plenty of pubs around. We went into the city, which was only a 15-minute Uber ride away, and Clifton Park and Ride tram stop is a five-minute drive, handy for heading in the next morning after checkout. The hotel is a group of converted houses, so it feels quite private. Our room was clean and tidy, a little small but not cramped, with tea and coffee available. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and service was lovely. We didn’t have breakfast or go to the bar because of our own schedule. I’d stay again.

The Cottage was ideal for our wedding. We stayed three days, arriving the day before and leaving the day after, and Sue and her team had everything covered. Nothing was too much trouble, and they handled the work of the day while meeting all our needs with friendly smiles. The evening meal, breakfasts and wedding meals were all amazing. Some guests booked rooms too, and they all found them comfortable and clean. The whole wedding experience was extra special thanks to the team and all their hard work. The hotel was lovely and beautifully clean, with plenty of parking. My bed was comfortable, there was tea and coffee in the room, and breakfast was nice. I had a fabulous stay and look forward to coming back.
