Premier Inn Bristol - Alveston

The only thing that kept this from a five star rating was the lack of a lift to the upper floors, which would have helped me as a disabled person. The staff were supportive and went out of their way to help. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast had a great range of food.

Service was good, and the staff were decent. The hotel itself looked run-down, though. Its exterior and bathroom were tatty, while the bedroom was fine. The photo shows the pub across the car park from the hotel.

The woman at reception spoke very quietly and came across as posh. We found her very odd and she creeped us out. The place itself had the look of a motel in a horror movie. I've stayed at a few Premier Inns, and this was the worst. We booked breakfast for the next morning, but the portion was tiny compared with other Premier Inns. The man working in the breakfast area was terrible. My sister and I were having a confidential conversation, and he listened in before speaking to us about what we'd said. He then commented on our political views and told us we were wrong to agree with certain policies. He kept staring and listening, so we didn't stay long and left hungry and thirsty. We couldn't enjoy ourselves, and I certainly wouldn't stay here again.

A basic Premier Inn. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. It looks a bit like a motel and the outside is somewhat run-down, but once you're inside, it's fine.
