Ibis Styles Birmingham Oldbury

We had a great week here, and it was handy having bus stops just 2 and 5 minutes away on foot, with buses into Birmingham or Dudley. The room had a quirky feel and was comfortable, especially the amazingly comfy bed with its memory foam topper. The shower room was compact, but the shower itself was brilliant. Staff were warm, helpful, and friendly, and the breakfast buffet was generous with lots to choose from. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The room was spacious, with a big double bed, a good power shower, and it was clean and quiet. Breakfast was hot and fresh with plenty of choice. It’s a modern hotel with a gym and bar, and it has a buffet breakfast. I think they also serve dinner. There were two things that let it down for me: the location is close to the M5, so you can hear road noise, and there seemed to be very few staff. I couldn’t get a drink at the bar, and there was nobody at reception when I needed a receipt. Still, I’d stay again.

The staff made things much easier when we were left to babysit a 3-year-old for the afternoon. Luke (not my son 😄😄) was especially helpful and a star. Reception staff were all welcoming, polite, and ready to help. Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety and everything cooked well, so well done to the kitchen team. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, with hot, powerful showers, warm towels, and plenty of accessories such as soap and shampoo dispensers. Ibis Style Oldbury exceeded our expectations. It’s a welcoming, comfortable hotel with a stylish interior and excellent staff and management, and you really do have your own front door. We highly recommend it and will be back later in the year. Getting into and back from the city centre was easy with the bus and train combination, and the price was good value. We arrived for a one-night stay on 5-6 Feb and checked in quite late. The night guy was chatty and friendly, and sorted our welcome drinks quickly. Breakfast the next morning was decent, with a full English I hadn’t expected. The staff were happy to give us a late check-out so we could sleep off our hangovers. The decor and rooms had the funky style I’ve come to expect from a good Styles. I’d definitely stay again.
