Bocardo Hotel

The room was tiny and basic, and the carpet was dirty. The bathroom smelled as if someone had been smoking in there. The radiator and TV didn’t work, while the air conditioning was really noisy. I also had to haul my suitcases up three floors of very narrow stairs.

For the price, this Oxford location is hard to beat. The rooms were clean and practical, with an ironing board, hairdryer and fridge. They also topped up the tea, coffee and water for our second day at no extra charge. I’d happily stay here again.

We arrived early, but our room was already ready, which was a nice surprise. It was quiet and had what we needed, including tea, coffee, milk and water. The bathroom felt modern, with good-quality towels and L'Occitane products in wall dispensers. Gloucester Green Bus station and the city centre sights are close by. Reception works by intercom, and a friendly staff member came down in under two minutes. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The room was good for what I paid, and everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. It was a bit noisy at night, though that comes with being so central. Staff were lovely, gave me a map of things to do in Oxford, showed up promptly when I checked in and out and stored my bags, and were happy to answer questions. For the price, I had a really good stay. :)
