The location was handy, with pubs, shops and places to eat close by, but I was very disappointed with the stay. Room 8 was tiny, and over three nights the shower gel, towels and tea and coffee supplies were never replenished. I had to buy my own shower gel. There was no heating in the middle of winter, and the room was freezing. The bed was broken and wobbly, with an old mattress so uncomfortable I could feel every spring. The person who let me in gave me no information and I never saw him again. Breakfast times were posted on the wall, but there was no breakfast at all, despite the place being booked and sold as a B&B. It turned out to be just a B. Corncroft is mis-selling its rooms and services. I won't stay there again or recommend it. I would've been better off in my camper van, at least it’s warm and comfortable.

For £100 a night, I expected things to be better managed and in working order. We were put in the top attic room, which felt cramped under its low sloping ceilings and wooden beams, and looked out onto a car park. The room itself was clean and okay, but nothing special. The ironing board was old, dirty, and falling apart, with holes in the cover. There was no reception desk or lobby, no phone in the room, and no easy way to reach anyone if an issue came up. We rang the bell on arrival and were greeted warmly, but during our three-day stay we didn't see anyone again.

The staff were friendly and courteous, and breakfast was good, though a little small with just one of each cooked item. There was also toast and cereal to choose from. We stayed one night. The rooms were clean, though not immaculate, and sized well for a short break. They might feel tight on a longer stay. The bathroom was small, but everything worked, including the walk-in shower, which had plenty of hot water and good pressure. A great little place for the price and location.

We had a really nice room, clean and with a lovely view, and breakfast was fantastic, cooked just how we wanted it. The location also worked well for walks into Witney, with Oxford only a short drive away. We stayed over New Year's and were given such a warm welcome. It made a lovely start to our time there, and we hope to come back.

The four-poster room was beautiful, and the hotel was immaculate throughout. Richard made us feel welcome, as did all the friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious too. A fantastic place to stay. I’d happily recommend it and plan to return soon.
