The location worked perfectly for a city break, around a 20-minute walk from the centre while still having the quiet feel of a residential area. The rooms are finished to a high standard and thoughtfully decorated. Check-in is self-service, and it was quick and easy. Even though the place is unmanned, staff can be reached by phone or email throughout your stay if you have questions.

We spent a weekend at no 192 and couldn’t fault the stay. The check-in was seamless, with all the necessary information sent clearly and in good time. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s well placed for exploring the city, but far enough from the main streets to avoid the noise of people out at night. We’d definitely visit again!

No.192 Oxford is tucked away on a peaceful stretch of Iffley Road, just a short walk from the city centre and excellent transport links. It feels removed from the bustle while still being convenient. I had a lovely stay. The room was spotless, carefully furnished and very comfortable, with a cozy bed, a great shower and a smart design that made it an easy place to unwind after exploring.

We had booked to stay here on a Saturday night and knew already that it was a 30-minute walk to the town centre and farther from Oxford station, so that wasn’t an issue. What shocked us was finding a converted detached family home with several rooms when we’d thought we were booking a hotel. The photos don’t show the outside. It’s self check-in, so there’s no reception or concierge you can pop down to when something’s wrong. The heavy front door makes a very loud noise, which we could hear from our upstairs room. It kept waking us up. I like staying in independent or family-run hotels, but this is a family home conversion that doesn’t account for noise cancellation.

For the price, the place was clean and pleasant, and I’d stay again for the location and value. There’s no parking, and public parking is a 15-minute walk away. Shops and pubs are about 10 minutes away, with a bus stop right outside. There’s no reception, but a machine gives you your card when you enter your booking reference. That worked well, though if you have a problem, there’s nobody there to talk to. The carpet looked new, and the walls and doors were fresh and white. The room was small, and the bathroom even smaller. You could nearly knock yourself out on the sink if you sneezed on the toilet, and there’s hardly room to wash your feet in the shower while having a wee. Still, it was warm and clean. The room had a desk and kettle, but the off-centre lighting wasn’t useful for doing makeup at the desk. The bed was very comfy.
