The Mad Hatter Oxford

The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and had great lighting. The bed was really comfortable, and the eye mask and ear plugs were a lovely touch. I also loved having a coffee machine, though as big coffee drinkers we could have used another two pods. The bathroom was large and lovely, and the shower was amazing. A dressing table would make the room even better, since I had to do my makeup in the bathroom and my hair on the floor, even though there was enough space. The hallways were colourful and nicely decorated. We’ll stay here again next time we visit Oxford.

We spent Christmas with the Mad Hatters and had a fantastic night. The private room came with quick, easy service, tasty food and thousands of songs to choose from. Once our booking was over, the team invited us downstairs to carry on singing in the bar. Huge thanks to Malachi, Sasha, Ash, Stephen, Dhanussh, Caitlin, & Rytis for making it the best night of the year!

We slept so well in The Mad Hatelier, thanks to an incredibly comfortable mattress. My wife loved the waterfall shower, and the staff were amazing, even having the room ready ahead of time. The furnishings were spot on, and the decor made it feel unlike any room we’ve stayed in before. There was even a small fridge, which was a nice touch and a first for us.

We came for a birthday a week ago, arriving right on time, 15 minutes early. The first person we met had an awful attitude and was extremely hostile. We said we knew we were early and asked if we could have a drink while we waited, which would mean spending more money, but were told they’d make the drinks once we went up to the Karaoke room. The woman who explained how karaoke worked knew her stuff, but was blunt. The bartenders seemed annoyed whenever we ordered a cocktail, and made us feel guilty for asking for drinks. We had a lovely time on our own in the dusty karaoke room, but every time we interacted with staff, we felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there. We’re all 20-year-old university students who work in hospitality, and the team’s attitude was appalling and disappointing. Luckily, the birthday girl was still happy that we could all be together. From one hospitality worker to another, don’t be rude to people. You made us all feel like 💩.
