The room was spotless and pleasant, and the staff were polite, if occasionally a little awkward. We didn't mind that the promised early parking space wasn't actually reserved, or that our room wasn't ready before 3pm as we'd been told to expect. But why offer both twice if they weren't going to happen? Breakfast was just adequate for the facilities. The choices were basic and lacked seasoning. For £20, the full English came with a stamp-sized piece of black pudding and half a tomato, plus a random handful of watercress. The buffet pastries were limited and dry, and the muffins seemed a day or two past their best. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but had hoped to have a drink at the bar. The open area smelled strongly of food, especially fish, so we decided against it. It's a shame, as the setting was nice.

The location made it easy to explore Oxford on foot and get out of the city by car, while still feeling like a hidden spot right in the centre. We loved the food, which was better than anywhere else we tried in Oxford. This is a magical, intimate boutique hotel, with lovely decor and close attention to detail throughout the service. Every staff member was friendly and happy to help with whatever we needed. We'd definitely make a return visit a priority next time we're in the UK.

The restaurant was delicious, and they adjusted dishes for dietary needs without any fuss. We also slept really well: the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and homey, and everything was very clean and updated. It was VERY small, though. Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. Someone helped with our bags, check-in was easy, and we were shown around. The staff stayed attentive throughout. The location works if you want to be away from the bustle, but if you don't want to walk to your destination, somewhere closer to the city centre may suit you better. A pleasant stay, though the room size and distance keep it from feeling flawless.

The staff, our room, and The Grill all made this stay beyond amazing. The receptionists were welcoming and very polite, the room was outstanding, and the food was sublime. We'd first come here for afternoon tea four years ago to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was so delicious that we promised ourselves a stay at the Hotel, and now we've done it. We're coming back next year for our 45th anniversary.

I had lunch here, and the seabass was excellent. The service and food were both great. The interior also has a lot of character: I loved the art and how everything was arranged, which gave the place its own warmth and culture. The outside is beautifully maintained too. The Old Parsonage has been here since 1660, older than my country, the USA, and it still has its original door. That gives it a real sense of history. Highly recommend!
