The Sands Hotel

We stayed four nights at The Sands for my birthday and will be back next year. The hosts were really friendly, everywhere was nice and clean, and breakfast was just right to set us up for the day. We had a lovely view of the sea from our window. Parking at the front and rear was well managed, so we weren't blocked in.

Parking was tricky at first, even though I'd messaged ahead about needing a close space due to mobility needs. After a couple of issues, the proprietors sorted it out immediately. We found them kind, friendly and great hosts. Our room was excellent, with a terrace, lots of space and comfortable beds, and it was immaculately clean with everything needed for a lovely stay. Plenty of tea and coffee, and the personal toiletries were a real treat. The TV signal in our room was weak, but neither issue would put us off returning. Excellent value for money. The view of the bay from our room was stunning, and the staff were charming and friendly. Some parts of the place are a little down at heel, but we really enjoyed our stay. Would we stay again? Most certainly.

It was only about a five minute walk to the beach, with a cinema nearby and the shops and restaurants a short stroll away. We had some of our meals at Wetherspoons. Parking round the back was free. Our room was tidy and very clean, with a comfortable bed and two pillows each. Even with the window open, we barely heard the seagulls. There was a double wardrobe, bedside cabinets, a chair and dressing table with another chair, plus tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was very nice, with an easy to use shower and good hot water. Shower gel, shampoo, hand lotion, a shower hat and hand soap were supplied. Breakfast was available at extra cost. I'd recommend staying here.
