The spa felt badly neglected, with broken lights and handles, no water, a broken spinner and missing bags. The car park was poorly lit at night, and the waterlogged patches were hard to avoid. Our room also had a kitchen extractor near the open window, so there was noise and fumes through the night. We paid a lot for two coach house rooms, but one wasn't cleaned at all. We asked in the morning, reminded the manager at 3pm after being told someone would come, and asked again at 5pm. A receptionist eventually left tea bags and some breakfast items, but nobody apologised for the room being left dirty. Dogs are completely banned from the main hotel. We've never come across a hotel that refuses them everywhere. They could have let guests with dogs use the conservatory or bar to keep them out of the breakfast room. Staff first said they'd bring breakfast to our room, then in the morning said they couldn't be bothered. No help or apology, and the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. This was the worst and most expensive of the four Best Weston Hotels we've stayed at this year. Faulty Towers, and not a place for anyone with a dog.
Ruby at Spa reception made a lovely start to our stay. She was warm, helpful, and managed to fit my mum in for a last minute pedicure. We stayed in room 241, which was well furnished and equipped, and housekeeping had it freshened up while we were out. Dinner in the conservatory had a full menu, with everything available. As a family we tried the festive burger, fish of the day and stonebaked pizza. The food came in reasonable time, and the pricing felt fair for the quality and presentation. Breakfast staff were attentive but relaxed, and reception found us extra coffee and glasses when we asked. The location is beautiful and everyone was accommodating. We'll definitely return for a spa break in the new year. Thank you.
The restaurant food and breakfast were both excellent, and I enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. After some booking glitches on the website, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a superior double, which was a great room. I wasn't so keen on the voluntary service charge.
The Bishop's palace is right next door, and the hotel is in a beautiful spot. I've been a few times and loved it each time. The restaurant is very good, and the spa and fitness facilities are our favourite part. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Set in a beautiful location, it was a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. It's an old building and could do with a bit of a decor refresh, but it was clean, comfortable and presentable.
