The walking stick was a new gift from my daughter, and I’d left it in the room because I didn’t need it every minute after foot surgery. When we noticed it was missing as we packed, we thought it might be in the car. A few minutes into the drive home, I checked and realized it wasn’t there, so we called the hotel. The woman who answered said she’d look, then asked us to ring back. She told us she’d found it lying behind the shoe tray, even though I’d left it standing against the wall where I could see it, nowhere near the tray. She agreed to post it if I paid the postage. It never came. We called several times and were told they had it, and I even mailed them a stamped, addressed jiffy bag, but still got nothing. Weeks later I called again and was told they knew nothing about a walking stick. Very dodgy, to say the least. We won’t stay there again. Awful. We’d stayed there some time before that. The food was fine, but some staff weren’t very friendly. The cleaning woman, though, made the most inappropriate comments to my partner. We also had the feeling someone had been going through our things while we were out. Not a good feeling at all.

The food was so good, and the location on Main Street is perfect. There’s plenty of off-road parking too. It was our first stay, and the staff were very friendly. The room was a nice size and spotlessly clean. We’ll definitely come back.

We had a few drinks in the bar one evening and enjoyed them. We also heard people say the dinner was good. The room seemed fine at first, and the hotel is right in the heart of Pembroke with parking, but sleeping was another matter. The walls were paper thin, so we could hear everything from the rooms above and next door. Huge lamps outside and thin white curtains let so much light in that it was almost impossible to sleep. Breakfast was really oily, and the woman serving seemed completely uninterested in being there. The staff felt disinterested too.

Dinner at the restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast, unfortunately, was poor: the cold items were low quality, the croissants were soggy from the microwave, and the pancakes were tough and chewy. The rooms were clean, and there’s parking, a restaurant, and a bar on site. It’s a nice hotel overall. We liked our stay and loved dinner, though breakfast needs work. We could stay again.
