Those onion rings were unreal, so well seasoned that I could happily have eaten a whole plate of them. We each had a burger, beef and chicken, with a generous portion and a side of rings. The food was great value, and there’s a good range of draught lagers at fair prices. We arrived without booking on a quiet night and were able to eat in. The pub is dog friendly, which was a bonus. Service felt just right: a polite, attentive check-in without hovering while we were eating. The staff were thoughtful too. A gentleman stopped hammering on a gallery wall soon after we came in, though I wouldn’t have minded him carrying on, and the dog had something to watch. We stay in the area regularly, so we’ll be back, maybe even before we head home.

We only stopped for drinks because we'd already booked a meal somewhere else earlier, but the place was so warm and welcoming that we’d have stayed for food otherwise. It’s dog friendly, the staff were lovely, and there’s a great choice of drinks. We’ll call in again.

We stopped for a quick lunch and would happily call in again when we're nearby. The hotel is warm inside and sits just off the A55 near Penmaenmawr, which is handy. I had the homemade soup and a glass of cask ale, while my partner went for chicken goujons and lager. Both meals were tasty and came with bread and butter.

We had a lovely sea view from our clean, comfortable room, and the location was ideal. Everyone was welcoming, and the host was particularly helpful with directions when the A55 tunnel closed in both directions. Breakfast and Sunday lunch were both beautiful. Everything arrived piping hot and promptly after we ordered. We’d definitely recommend staying here and will certainly return.

I arranged a get-together for a 60th birthday, and they made the night enjoyable even with two other functions going on. There was so much food, the service was amazing, and nothing felt like too much trouble. I can’t thank Gavin enough for all the effort.
