Camilla House - Guest house

Fee made us feel very welcome. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated, with thoughtful extras like fresh bottled water each day, chocolates and homemade cake. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, and everything was delicious.

Breakfast was a highlight every day, and the homemade cake, chocolate and tea in the room were lovely little touches that made us feel special. Fee was attentive and welcoming throughout. Camilla House worked perfectly for our four days in Cornwall, with a good base for driving to the area's main attractions. Our room was bright and modern while still quaint, and absolutely gorgeous. It was spotless, especially the bathroom, the cleanest I've ever seen. Fantastic stay, thanks Fee.

Fee is the real gem here. She was warm and welcoming, knew the local area inside out, and suggested beautiful Cornwall spots we’d have missed despite booking plenty of attractions already. She even lent us sleeping bags for a chilly evening show at the Minack Threatre. We stayed at Camilla House for six nights in October 2020 and would happily return to Penzance for another stay. The Georgian guesthouse is elegant and outstanding, on one of Penzance’s prettiest streets and conveniently located. Private parking is available, a real issue in town. Our Poldhu room was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a large, comfortable queen size bed. Breakfast was superb: we both thought the English breakfast was the best we’d ever had, and the other choices were excellent too. The welcome chocolate and homemade cakes each day were a nice touch. The host was kind and helpful, and the quiet setting made it a relaxing place to stay. Our room was spacious and clean, with a sea view. Breakfast was good, with local food served freshly each day. I’d definitely recommend it.
