The staff are always so friendly, and they’re great about identifying allergens. There are plenty of veggie choices too. On our latest visit, the fish and chips were amazing, the fish cooked just right, and the lasagne was tasty and meaty. We enjoyed the cocktails as well. We’ve been back a few times for food and will come again.

The rooms were clean, cosy and comfortable, and the food was cooked fresh to order with a good choice on the menu. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and really made an effort to make our visit a good one. It’s a lovely pub and a superb place to stay. We’d definitely return. Well done, Dolphin Tavern 👍

We went back for lunch with friends after stopping in for a couple of drinks a few days earlier. The cod and chips, whitebait and lasagne were all said to be excellent, and my rump steak was one of the best I’ve had, tender and cooked perfectly. We felt welcome and well looked after by the staff. A great pub and eatery in a lovely spot. Highly recommend.

They even offered water to our golden retriever, and the service was excellent. It’s a very welcoming, dog-friendly pub with lovely staff and exceptional food.

The double fish mix of plaice and monkfish was superb, and the food was amazing. Joe behind the bar was really friendly and gave excellent service. It’s a great pub, full of historic sea character. I also read about its ghosts and how the back area used to be a courtroom. Definitely recommend 👌
