We had late September sunshine every day, which was the icing on the cake for a brilliant stay. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped, with lovely style and interesting touches. It’s a peaceful riverside spot for walks to nearby villages, yet just off the A1 for easy trips to Stamford, Cambridge and Peterborough. The owners were away on a rare break of their own, but their 'caretaker' Adrian answered our questions brilliantly and took time for a chat with us by the pool. And Myshka, their friendly husky, was never far off when we wanted to give her a tummy rub.

I loved staying in the self-service cottage while we were in the area for a nearby wedding. The grounds were lovely and relaxing, and the location made it easy to get back on the road, with shops only a short drive away. Steve and Phil were so welcoming. Wish I could’ve stayed longer at Rivernene cottages!

The cottage was comfortable and the hosts were great. The location was fine too. Some repairs seem to be needed, including to the shower, but the host pointed these out when we arrived, so there were no surprises.

Stephen met us when we arrived, showed us around, and was really helpful and friendly. The cottages are cosy, beautiful and clean, just off the A1, with thoughtful details throughout. I actually read the whole guest information pack because it was in a proper book, and every detail had been thought through. It’s affordable, well maintained and in a great location. We loved it and will be back soon. I usually make jokes in my reviews, but I just really liked this place. Sorry for being sincere, but I loved it.

We had a one-bedroom cottage/apartment with everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washer dryer. It’s set in lovely grounds by the river, behind secure gates. The hosts were so hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. They also have a gorgeous, calm dog who’s happy to accept cuddles. I highly recommend River Nene Cottages.
