I’d arranged this three months ahead so my parents would have somewhere for Christmas. Today they told me they’d be closed then, leaving me to find somewhere else at a much higher price with few options left. The message just said, “we are closed then,” with no apology for the trouble. Really poor customer service.

The breakfast was great and got the day off to a good start, and the rooms were clean and tidy. The hosts were especially welcoming. Alma ticks all the boxes for me, and I’d happily stay again and recommend it.

We’ve been back to Alma House six times, which says a lot. It’s friendly and feels like home, and you can just ask if you need something because nothing seems like too much trouble. They even provide decent loo roll 😊

The breakfast was tasty and the atmosphere really friendly, with modern rooms too. A couple of complimentary bottles of water and a hair dryer in the rooms would make it just right.

I felt really welcome here and enjoyed my whole stay. It’s a lovely, clean B&B in a handy spot in Plymouth, close to shops, bars, pubs, entertainment and pretty much everything you could need.
