The atmosphere was great, and the breakfast was a lovely start to the day. Everything came out hot, full of flavour and nicely presented. The crispy bacon, tasty sausage, creamy poached egg, beans, grilled tomato, mushroom and delicious hash brown were all cooked just right. Fresh toast and ketchup on the side rounded out the classic full breakfast. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone after a satisfying breakfast.

We were in the area for a funeral in Yealmpton and stayed for one night. Our room was number 8, a huge, luxurious room at the top of the hotel. There’s dedicated guest parking, but do be ready for steep steps into the building and up to the room. Dinner and breakfast were lovely, and the restaurant was very popular. Every staff member we dealt with was brilliant, and they kindly arranged a much later checkout for us. We’d choose to stay at the Rose & Crown again if we’re nearby.

The deluxe suite was beautifully decorated, spotless, and so peaceful. We started with a delicious Sunday lunch with the family, and the service was everything we could have asked for. We’ve stayed in a lot of the St Austell pubs, and this is easily the best. If you want a couple of days away, I can’t recommend it enough. We’ll be back.

I really enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast and would recommend it. The room was tidy and welcoming, with a very comfortable bed and a clean, nicely decorated shower room. There was a good choice of coffee and a bottle of water, plus a radio and a large flat screen TV. It was nice to come back after a day out and find the bed made and the room tidied. I’ll definitely visit again!

We were walking the South Hams Way with a friend and our two dogs, and stayed at the Rose and Crown for one night. Having direct access to the garden was a lovely bonus, and the room had a very comfortable bed. The whole team were incredibly helpful and accommodating. We ate well, and the separate GF menu was the icing on the cake. We had a wonderful stay and I’ll definitely come again. Highly recommend.
