Premier Inn Poole Centre - Holes Bay

The hotel is decent enough for work, and the location is convenient. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a little dated compared with newer Premier Inns. Reception staff have always been helpful and friendly. The restaurant, however, keeps letting the place down. I'm here for work now (09/03/2026), and on an earlier visit in December I was given the wrong meal, while my boss's mixed grill came cold after a very long wait. He left most of it. On this stay, service was again extremely slow. There seemed to be only a couple of restaurant staff. It took a while to get seated, then a long time to order, and even longer for food. My pizza finally arrived with a soft, undercooked base. I tried several times to get someone's attention so it could be cooked through, but no one came to check on us and it was hard to find anyone. By the time I spoke to someone it had gone cold. They took it away, but still charged me for the whole meal. The staff who were there seemed to be trying their best in difficult circumstances. I recognised the same waitress from my previous visit, and she was rushed off her feet again. A new girl, who looked very early in her training, was also doing her best but clearly struggling without enough support or staff. Later, I saw the chef in the lobby loudly complaining to the receptionist, which wasn't a good look for guests. My boss's car was also broken into in the car park on an earlier visit, and tools were stolen, adding to the bad experience at this location. The hotel itself is perfectly fine for work stays, but the restaurant and staffing need real improvement.

On Friday, the service was okay, but we left early because nobody came to clear our plates or ask if we wanted dessert. Saturday night, 24th January, was my Mum's birthday, and the service was absolutely awful. We had a cake ready, but were told there would be a wait because they were serving a table of 30. The food arrived an hour and a half later. My Mum and Brother had driven all the way from Okehampton, and we had to take the cake home. Her birthday was ruined. Staff spoke to the manager and offered a discount. I couldn't argue, as my kids badly needed to get to bed. The manager never came to apologise or even speak to me. We'd booked, so they knew we were coming. Why take a group of 30 when they couldn't keep up with service? We stayed two nights, and the first one was alright, but this was an absolutely horrendous experience.

Jane, the manager, quickly sorted out a mix-up with my booking without any hassle. The staff who greeted me at Premier Inn Holes Bay were fantastic and polite. I was staying for work, and the rooms were clean and tidy. I'd recommend this hotel for work or pleasure, and I'll definitely stay again when I'm back in Poole.

After a long trip, the reception team got me checked in quickly and were really helpful. I was here for work for a few nights. The room was spacious and clean, though it could use a little TLC. The bed was a godsend, and I had the best night's sleep I've had in a while. Everyone I met was polite, smiling and saying hello. It's lovely to see friendly people while working away, and they took an interest and had a laugh with me. I think the manager, the one with red hair, made me smile after a day of meetings. Dinner was very good with lots of choices. I'd recommend the mixed grill, it was a great portion and well cooked. Breakfast was filling too, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and chatted with me. I'll definitely stay again when I'm down for business.
