The vegan breakfast was incredible, even better than I’d imagined. Just remember to request it a few days ahead. The owners were lovely, though communication before arrival was difficult. It’s a characterful hotel in a handy Poole spot, near the quay and a convenient multi-storey car park. My room was small but comfortable, with two windows and a fan that came in useful in the hot weather. There was tea and a kettle, plus a good-sized shower room. I’d absolutely recommend it.

David made us feel so welcome and went out of his way for us. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade sourdough he baked. The bedrooms were lovely, and the kitchen place was just a stone's throw from the beach. I’d definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Poole.

Our trip was stressful, but the host made it much easier. He was generous, stayed up late when we got delayed, and cooked an incredible breakfast. The room was lovely too. I’d really like to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

David was a wonderful host, always willing to help. We had a spotless room, tea and coffee in it, and a very welcome parking space. The best breakfast we’ve ever had was another highlight. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at David’s Merchant House and recommend it without hesitation.

We stayed over the last Bank Holiday weekend (25th-26th Aug 19), and David was a brilliant host. He made us a lovely room and found space for a little EZ-bed for my 3yr old son. The room was very clean, with a great en-suite, and the included breakfast was amazing, especially after a 45 mile ride. It’s a great little find, with lots to see and do within a 15-30mins drive. Thanks, David, for a great stay.
