We slept well during our two night stay, and the distant trains were only faintly audible. The triple glazed windows kept the noise from disturbing us. We were in room 208. My one concern was the extractor fan. It was running in the bedroom and made the room steamy, even with the bathroom door shut. There was nowhere to dry towels, like a radiator, and they were still damp after being left in the bathroom all day.
We ate at the restaurant after 5pm, and the spinach and mascarpone ravioli with green pesto was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had, and I’ve been to Italy 🇮🇹 We stayed one night in room 101, right beside reception and the restaurant, overlooking the train station. We didn’t hear any noise. The room was spacious and clean. For our Guildhall event, it was perfectly located, just a five minute walk away. We parked at the recommended multi storey car park for the discounted rate of £4.50 p/24hr.
The staff were lovely, kind and helpful, and the hotel was nice and clean. Even with the station right next door, it was very quiet, and the location is great. The lift from the Premier Plus floor going down wasn’t working during our visit, so we had to use the stairs. That’s not ideal when you have arthritis. It was also raining really hard the night we stayed, and water started pouring through a light fitting in the restaurant. They said it had been happening for a while and had been reported. Hopefully both problems have been fixed by now.
The room was lovely, smelled fresh when we entered, and was super clean. I’m a housekeeper at another Premier Inn, so I was really impressed. There was tea and coffee just outside the lift on the first floor, which was handy and meant we didn’t have to go through the restaurant or reception. The receptionist was brilliant. She was waiting as soon as we came out of the lift and ready to help with all our requests. I didn’t get her name, but she had glasses and dark hair. Her customer service was outstanding and she deserves recognition for her hard work. We stayed for one night at the end of September, loved this hotel and will definitely be back. Thank you, Premier Inn!
Awful stay. There was no hot water or internet when I arrived, then the lift stopped working. My key wouldn’t work either, so I couldn’t get through the door to reach reception. The phone connected me to a virtual receptionist who had no idea what I was saying. After waiting around for 20 minutes, I got in the lift to reception with someone else. They told me there were problems with the keys. That doesn’t help when you’re locked out. No communication, and worse than Fawlty Towers. I’ve stayed in better budget hotels.
