The distillery tour was a highlight, and Ellen made it really engaging. She knew her stuff, was friendly, and explained all the steps involved in making whisky. The hotel food was exceptional too, with service to match. Our stay at Na Bothian felt luxurious and comfortable, and the views were breathtaking. The staff were warm from the moment we arrived, especially Alex, Jamie, Katie and Joan, who made us feel so welcome. I wish five stars were the maximum I could give. We’ll recommend it to whisky fans and can’t wait to return.

Ellen’s Dunnage tour and tasting was a real highlight. She brought her own take to it while sharing what makes Raasay unique, and it was excellent even for someone who’s done plenty of tastings. We also loved the food at the Gathering Room, where we had dinner and breakfast. Our stay in Na Bothain Number 2 was wonderful, with a stunning view and a very well-appointed interior. The blinds double as a projector screen, so we left them open all night. Everyone at Raasay was warm and genuine, and we’re grateful for how special they made our stay. The whisky and gin were great, from the six tour samples to the bar cocktails and the bottles in the Bothan, which we now call bedroom whisky. The peated chinkapin was my favourite. We’ll definitely be back.

The island scenery and the distillery make a lovely combination, and the place itself is stunning. We had a great time on the tour and tasting, especially learning that they make gin as well as whisky. The food afterwards was amazing, and the staff were really friendly with great service. We picked up a few souvenirs too. If you’re in skye, I’d recommend taking the ferry over, even just for a day. It’s inexpensive and takes about 20-25 minutes. A memorable visit.

Joan helped us get settled in the bothy and checked that we had everything we needed, including whisky and gin. We had a lovely dinner, enjoyed the whisky tasting tour, and made good use of the sauna. The views were beautiful too. It was a lovely stay, and we hope to come back for longer next time.

Breakfast delivered to the Bothan on our first morning was a lovely treat. We could take our time enjoying the space and the views before having dinner in the restaurant both nights. The food and service were excellent, and the whisky tour was interesting and informative, with delicious whisky at the end. We stayed in one of the new Bothans. Once we figured out the heating, it was spacious and comfortable, and the full height windows made the most of the amazing views. The island is small but beautiful, with plenty to explore. The receptionist mentioned fossils on a beach near the village, so we went looking and found one.
