Holiday Inn Reading South

The staff member at breakfast was lovely with my two kids. He made them laugh with the “6/7” trend, gave them paper and colours to use, and even handed out sweets and chocolate. Breakfast was nice, too. We stayed overnight for my brother's wedding, and the place itself is lovely and modern. There are Lidl, Aldi and CO -OP nearby, along with restaurants such as Nandos and Popeyes, which is handy. I found the beds and pillows a bit uncomfortable because I prefer a firm mattress and pillow for my neck, though that's just my personal preference. If I’m in Reading again, I’d stay here, though I don't expect to be back anytime soon.

Alyona at the front desk made a great first impression. Check-in was easy, and about ten minutes after I reached my room she called to see if everything was okay and whether I needed anything. I've stayed at plenty of IHG hotels, and that small bit of follow-up stood out. The room was clean and comfortable. I'd gladly stay again.

I was there for a work Christmas dinner, not staying overnight. The main hall where we ate was fantastic, and the hotel looked clean, well organised and really attractive. The food was decent, and Vic and Sage were friendly and made sure guests had what they needed. There was also a DJ playing very nice music. It turned out to be a lovely, unexpected evening.

We had a one-night family stay, and the staff made it especially nice. Khadija at check-in and Suleyman at breakfast were standouts, though everyone we met was polite, helpful and friendly. They really lifted the whole experience. The hotel and our room were exceptionally clean, the facilities were great, and there was a good breakfast selection. It's in a convenient location and has good parking. Thanks to the team.
