What made me feel welcome wasn't just the lovely place or good service, but the friendly way everyone treated me. On a very cold evening when I was at a football match, I went to the bar and asked Leon for something. He kindly agreed. Sammi recommended and served me a delicious tea, with Ishani there too, and she was very polite. I'd highly recommend a visit.

The festive decor and atmosphere were lovely, and our suite was stunning, cozy, modern and clean. It was just right for a couple's getaway, giving my wife and me the space and time to reconnect during our two-night romantic break. There was a small problem at the start that could have affected our stay, but Nissrine, the front office manager, handled it immediately and professionally. She was kind, incredibly helpful and clearly cared that we were happy. She went out of her way to sort it out and upgraded our room because of the inconvenience. That turned things around completely, and we could relax and enjoy our time together. The hotel's high standard and the excellent service, especially from Nissrine, make us keen to return and happy to recommend Voco Hotel. Thanks again to the front desk team, and especially to Nissrine Laassal, for making the stay memorable.

Breakfast had a good range of fresh food, and the staff throughout were friendly and accommodating. We also made good use of the spa, and I'd booked my partner a treatment before our one-night stay. But it was cold around the pool and in the surrounding areas, and the pool itself wasn't a comfortable temperature, which took away from the experience. We'd booked a presidential suite. It was spacious and fairly modern, but warmth was hard to get into the bathroom and nearby areas despite the two air conditioning units. Cold air seemed to be blowing into the communal hallways and then into the rooms. We enjoyed our night away overall, though the heating across the premises needs improvement for a more comfortable stay.

The hotel's location is ideal if you need to be near the stadium, though there aren't any food shops within walking distance. The nearby retail park has a few places such as b&q and .Currys, and the 600 bus can get you into the city centre quickly. Breakfast was tasty, nicely presented and offered plenty of choice. We received a lovely welcome, and the room was clean, comfortable and inviting. As is typical of HI, tea, coffee and basic toiletries were complimentary, and the walk-in shower was wonderful. The main downside was the limited TV selection: about 15 Freeview channels, with some being +1 channels. A really enjoyable stay at a top notch hotel.
