The bed was more than comfortable enough, and we were so worn out from the conference that the issues didn’t spoil our visit. The en-suite could use a little care: the toilet wobbled when you sat on it, and running the tap for too long made the shower tray overflow. We arrived after 9pm following a long journey and had let the team know in advance. They welcomed us and gave us the instructions for finding the room. It was clean and nicely presented, but cold. The next morning I noticed a window had been left on vent. We asked for some heat, and the lad kindly put it on while we went for a walk along the seafront. I didn’t take photos or videos. I’m sure they’ll sort out the little things, as they seem like good folk.

It was the first week of March, still very much winter in the north east. After a day working on site, I’d return to the lakeside room and find it cold. The radiator was too small for the room and barely gave off any heat, even turned up. The shower was barely warm, then quickly went cold. I’d sleep in my car before staying at the lakeside again.

The location suited me perfectly, parking was no problem, and the hotel was quiet. My room was warm, clean, and tidy, basic but with everything I needed. The manager was really friendly and helpful when I checked in. I’d stay again, and will.

We had a double room with our own bathroom. The people were polite and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and tidy, and everything smelled fresh. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well. I’d definitely book here again! :)

The sea and boating lake views are lovely, and the room does have tea and coffee facilities. The host was friendly and helpful, but the room felt a bit tired. On arrival there was a musty smell. The curtains were hanging off the pole, the mattress was worn, and screws stuck out of the four poster bed. The wallpaper was peeling and the light wasn’t fully secured to the ceiling. The en suite is just a diagonal partition in the corner, with no ceiling.
