The staff were very good, and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We ate an average evening meal: brie wedges, pâté, steak and ale pie, then chocolate brownie. Breakfast was nice, with scrambled egg and salmon. The issue was the booking. I paid Country Hotek Breaks for a suite with a bedroom and separate lounge, but Room 2 was just a large room with a sofa. I mentioned this when we arrived and told the staff I would raise the concern that we hadn't been given what I'd paid for.

Our dog was made very welcome, with a water bowl, toy and treats waiting on arrival, and the spacious bedroom had plenty of room for a dog cage. We came for Peppa Pig World, which is so close you could walk there. Breakfast was lovely, and the unlimited hot drinks and water were a nice touch. We had a great stay and would happily return to Mortimer's Arms.

The Sunday roast is the best we've ever had, so we come back as often as we can. Mortimer hosted our wedding reception, too, and the food and dedicated staff made the day brilliant and truly memorable. We loved it.

We only came for Sunday roast, not an overnight stay. The pub has a lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting, and the roast and other food were tasty and high quality. Everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. A lovely welcome, well done to the whole team!

The food was great, and the private function room had a lovely feel that let us celebrate away from the main pub. We held my mum's wake here, and the staff were professional and friendly from the booking call through to the bar service on the day. I'd recommend it and keep it in mind for future celebrations.
