The location is ideal, close to the park, station and shops, and I’d love to come back to this charming hotel. The decor looks a little tired, but that’s part of its character. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to meet our needs and special requests. Breakfast was incredible, and the quiet rooms had very comfortable beds and everything we could need. I had one of the best nights’ sleep in ages.

Breakfast is included, and the parking is free with spaces available, which is a real bonus! I love staying here. My quaint room is so peaceful, yet Bill's restaurant and all the shops are just a short walk down the lane. From my bedroom I can see the houses across the hilltop.

It was spotless, and the bathroom was modern. There was tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room, plus a little patio with picnic tables out front. Breakfast was lovely in a bright, spacious room, and we sat by the bay window. The staff were friendly and efficient. It’s a huge, traditional British hotel with lots of rooms and a car park in a perfect spot. Given its age and size, it’s well kept, and good value for a stay in central Tunbridge Wells. It does feel like stepping back in time. I’d definitely recommend it.

The breakfast was okay and the location was good. But the room felt very dated, with peeling walls, and there were no curtains on the two bathroom windows. The mattress was probably the most uncomfortable one I’ve ever slept on.

We booked at short notice for New Year’s Eve. The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. The room had a traditional feel, and the sheets were fresh, clean and comfortable.
