Rushden lakes is right nearby, with plenty to do. The room was more than good enough for such a cheap one-night stay, and the big bed made for a good night's sleep. The receptionist was great and went out of her way to book us a taxi after a nearby crash closed the main road.

We got no sleep for two nights. Every room around us seemed to have some kind of domestic or demonic exorcism going on, with kids screaming and furniture being thrown around. On the second night the noise just kept going, so I left at 3am.

It was really quiet, and everything in the clean room worked. The lady at reception gave us a warm welcome and was friendly and professional. Shame the cafe / restaurant next door has closed, though the shopping area with plenty of food outlets is only a few minutes away.

The evening receptionist was kind enough to help me carry my suitcase upstairs. It wasn't heavy, but I needed the banister for balance, so I appreciated her help. I would stay again, as it suited my needs for visiting family nearby. The room was lovely and spacious, with modern furnishings and thick curtains. I did find a few stray hairs on the sink and bath, and a stain on the duvet cover, though it was clean. The car park was dark when I arrived, and I found it tricky to get around. Rushden lakes shopping and leisure is right next door, and you can walk there, but I'm not sure I'd cross the car park alone in the dark at first to reach the lit path.

The only good thing about the place was the lady at the front desk. The room was unclean, with countless stains on the carpet, and the wall was so dusty that someone's finger marks were still visible. Very disappointed. I won't stay here again.
