The three-course breakfast is a real treat, with fruit salad beautifully presented, cooked options, pastries, juice and bubbles. Alan's cooking is delicious, especially his homemade hollandaise sauce. The house itself is beautiful and has a calm atmosphere that helps me unwind from everyday stress. Paul and Alan are warm, welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make each stay special. I've been lucky enough to visit Saltcote Place several times, both as a couple and with our adult children for special birthday celebrations. Every visit has been as good as the last. We just came back from another superb break and highly recommend it.

I'd booked our hotel for the wrong week and was in a panic, so I rang Paul to ask if there was a spare room over Easter weekend. They found us a room with just 15 minutes' notice and treated us like royalty. Paul and Alan, sorry if this review brings more frazzled husbands to your door at 8pm on a Friday. Thanks for setting the highest standard of hosting I've ever experienced, and enjoy your retirement.

Every detail felt carefully looked after, and the warm, family-friendly atmosphere is full of personal touches. Paul and Alan are incredibly attentive and lovely hosts. Staying at Salt Coat Place Hotel was truly unique, and I left feeling like I'd made two new friends. My family and I had an unforgettable time. Thank you for having us, Paul and Alan. 100000/10, I'd recommend it to anyone. It's unlike anywhere else I've been and well worth it. - The Cluney family

Alan and Paul gave us a warm welcome at Saltcote Place. The rooms are airy and bright, with lots of chandeliers, and breakfast was tasty, made with quality ingredients. The house is peaceful and beautiful, a short walk from historic Rye. We left the car securely parked and walked down a quiet lane to the Globe pub, just minutes away, for good food and excellent service, then crossed the bridge into town.

Paul and Alan made our weekend at Saltcote Place feel perfect, with thoughtful attention from the time we booked through to arrival. Alan's breakfast was hot and delicious. We were glad they suggested No 50 restaurant in Rye, where we managed to get a table and had a great time. These hosts have years of experience, and plenty of places could learn from them.
