Classic Lodges Grinkle Park Easington

The staff and service really stood out. Everyone was friendly, helpful and efficient. We stayed one night with my parents, and our rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable, with amazing views from the windows. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and suited all our different tastes and needs. We can’t wait to visit again!

The dated rooms and creaky floorboards might put you off, but our room was huge, quiet, cozy and comfortable, with everything we needed. There was tea, coffee and biscuits, a bath and shower, bath robes, and a TV with all the channels, which makes a change. The staff were a delight and took time to chat. There was no waiting at reception, at the bar or when going into the restaurant. The building is beautiful, with a lovely seating area and open fire, and the grounds were a bonus to walk around. Loved our visit.

We’ve stayed here several times, most recently for a birthday, and every visit has been enjoyable and relaxing. The location is great and the food is very good. What stands out most is how consistently brilliant the staff are, without being intrusive or obsequious in any way. Special shout out to the two ladies serving breakfast on Monday morning. The service was outstanding, and the coffee and toast just kept coming. We’ll certainly be back.

The next morning’s full Yorkshire breakfast was amazing, with plenty of continental options too, including fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurts and different juices. We only stayed one night, which felt too short, and plan to return for longer. We were in the Ingleby room, a very large room with a huge comfortable bed, wardrobe, table, sofa, ensuite and fantastic views over the garden and lake. At dinner my partner had sirloin steak and I had chicken, after smoked salmon to start. We finished with sticky toffee pudding and vanilla pana cotta, all mouth-wateringly good. We also enjoyed a few drinks at the bar and can recommend the Cherry Gin and Fizz cocktail. Our January stay at Grinkle Park Hotel was made even more lovely by all the snow. The snowy countryside and full trees made the driveway look like a magical winter wonderland. The staff were amazing and welcoming, and nothing was too much to ask. On arrival we had cakes and tea/coffee, including a still-warm slice of Parkin that was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
