St Hildas Boutique

We picked the Cairo room for a special occasion and it didn’t disappoint. The hotel has a welcoming feel that made us feel at home right away. It felt luxurious, with lots of thoughtful little touches. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choice. We’ll definitely try to visit again!

The continental breakfast had loads of options, and you could fill a tray and take it up to your room if you wanted. We also found the detailed information booklet really handy, with places to eat and drink, taxis and takeaways listed. The lady who checked us in was so friendly, made us feel comfortable and was happy to answer our questions. We stayed in the Cairo room, and the pictures really don’t do it justice. It was beautiful, spotless and had amazing attention to detail. The bed was extremely comfy and we had such a restful night. We’ve just got home from a wonderful stay at St Hilda's and will definitely be back. Thanks for such an amazing night away.

The Paris themed room was stunning and had a huge jacuzzi. Continental breakfast was included in the room price, and the staff were very friendly. I’ll definitely book again, maybe a different themed room next time.

We stayed in the Reykjavik room, which I believe was converted from a barn. It had a comfortable bed, a sofa and an enormous bathroom with a very large whirlpool bath. This is a luxury B&B near the North Yorkshire coast, with themed rooms. Breakfast is a continental buffet, served in the main house or outside at tables when the weather’s good. There are two pubs and a fish and chips shop within walking distance for dinner. Picturesque bays are close by, about 1.5 miles to the nearest, whether you drive or walk. A couple of small things could be better. Our room had no shaving socket, and there was no light above the mirrors, so I couldn’t see well while shaving. Covers on the breakfast fruit would help protect it from wasps. The afternoon checkin also needs planning if you’re travelling a long way or working on the day you arrive. These are minor issues, though. The accommodation is luxurious, the area is lovely, and while it isn’t cheap, you get a lot more for your money than nearby Whitby. Good value, recommended.
