We arrived soaked on Friday night without a booking and were made to feel so welcome. The warm, lively atmosphere was lovely, and the steak pie and salmon tagliatelle were amazing. We liked it so much that we booked a table again for Saturday, and weren't disappointed. The service and staff attitude were exceptional. Xxx

The room was lovely and the staff very pleasant, but the double bed in room 5 was so hard and uncomfortable that I had to sleep on the duvet to get any rest. I also thought breakfast was at 7.30 am, so I went down, but the dining room doors were locked and nobody was around. I went outside, the door slammed behind me, and I couldn't get anyone's attention. The cook arrived and rescued me. That last problem was my fault. I'm 80 and deaf, and I hadn't read the information properly or understood how to open the locked door.

The portions were generous, maybe a bit too big! We went for a meal with my partner’s family and were lucky they'd reserved beef before it sold out earlier that day. Very nice, would highly recommend, and I'd definitely go back.

Free customer parking was handy, and the food and service were excellent. Our first Sunday lunch here was great value, and we'll be back.
