The Five Bells

The staff even carried our bags up the stairs, which I really appreciated. We had a hot shower, a comfy bed and a really good meal, and I'm already looking forward to another visit. Staying at the Five Bells Hotel felt like getting a warm hug from family. The room was just what I hoped for, authentic, with no bells and whistles, just lovely old-fashioned country hospitality. Thanks so much.

We were just passing through the village and stopped in shortly before 2.30, when lunch service usually ends. The staff were happy to fit us in for sandwiches and fries, and even gave our group homemade cakes on the house because our friends were celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Such a warm welcome, and we all said we'd never been greeted like that before. The food was outstanding, the drinks were lovely, and the house Brandy was superb. The locals were friendly too. What a gem of a Pub. Please visit, I'd give it ten stars if I could.

There's a real community feel here, with lots going on, and it feels like a proper village local. The pub is dog friendly, the welcome is warm and the food is great. We'll definitely come back.

A lovely village pub, but the seating on curry night made for an uncomfortable meal. They put us in the restaurant right beside the bar, where people kept coming and going in the queue for curry. It felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. Some people held onto our table to get around, and others put their food on it while opening the door. We really didn't enjoy sitting there.
