The Fleur De Lis

The hotel welcomes pets, and the town is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are tidy and clean, with excellent service. The station is no more than a ten-minute walk away. There's live music on Friday and Saturday nights. I missed the breakfast menu, but the bar menu was interesting and unusual. Don't hold back on the jalapeño and chilli.

Breakfast was excellent, huge and cooked just right. The chef had been injured, so there were no evening meals available, which kept this from being five stars. We stayed one midweek night and had a very pleasant time. The room was simple, but spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable and there was plenty of tea and coffee. The shower mixer was very stiff and hard to turn off. I mentioned it when checking out, and they said they'd deal with it. I'd definitely stay again.

We stumbled across this great bar on a Saturday afternoon when a band was playing, and enjoyed a lovely pint of Guinness. Then they ran out just before 5pm, despite St. Patrick's Day being tomorrow. That seems like poor management, and I can imagine plenty of disappointed people tonight with another band on, and even more tomorrow on Paddy's Day. Would've been five stars otherwise.

Breakfast was incredible, with generous portions included in the room price. Our room for three was comfortable and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful from check-in through check-out. We loved our stay at Fleur De Lis. The only reason I gave four rather than five stars is the shower water was tepid. On a cold, rainy day, a warm or hot shower would've been welcome.
