The sea view was such a treat, especially having a quiet coffee in the morning while everyone else slept. We all had a really good night's rest too, thanks to the comfy beds and lovely pillows. Amy made us feel so welcome and was always helpful. The rooms were clearly well looked after. There’s no food service, but the little bar is well stocked and reasonably priced, and there’s free tea and coffee. My daughter counted 18 kinds of tea, I think! Our room had a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge, with plenty of facilities for heating food. There are board games in the bar and cosy chairs and sofas to unwind in. The beach is easy to get to, with some great cafes and restaurants nearby. Thanks, Amy. We’ll be back soon.

We had a nice en-suite room with a double bed and bunk beds, enough for two adults and two youngsters. There was a mini fridge and fan, and plenty of tea and coffee, plus lots of shared facilities. The sea views and private off-street parking were great. It felt like a family home away from home, and we enjoyed our stay in lovely Scarbados. The host was friendly and accommodating. We actually booked another stay before we’d even left. Thanks!

The only thing I’d give four stars to was the toilet paper. The room was cold and tiny, smaller than some spare rooms I’ve stayed in, and the place was described as a four star hotel. It looked very dated too. The wallpaper was old, the ceiling needed serious attention, the bedside wall lights were loose, and the water cups were those white plastic vending machine ones. The girl who handed over our key was lovely, and that was the one bright spot. I know you get what you pay for, but I still felt badly overcharged. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Things were even more frustrating when I was told this was the first weekend of opening, since they’d had all winter to deal with these problems.

We stayed in room 6 on the third floor, and the climb was worth it for those spectacular views across the bay. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. Breakfast costs extra, though you can arrange it the night before, and there’s a pleasant dining room and bar. You can also sit outside at the front or back and have a drink in the sunshine. It’s opposite the cricket ground, with an easy walk to the park or town centre, and parking was good. The young woman running the place was friendly and helpful. It’s a reasonably priced little hotel in a great spot. Like many places in Scarborough, it’s in an old building, but it’s kept and decorated well. We were very happy with our choice and would recommend it.

We only booked one night, but could happily have stayed longer. The room was spacious and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities, a nice en-suite and lovely views over North Bay Scarborough.
