The Royson Guest House

Nigel and Sharon were so welcoming and checked that everything was alright. It's a lovely, cosy place, and the cooked and continental breakfasts were both delicious. The beds were comfortable, and the room had hot chocolate, tea and coffee. We especially appreciated the decor details, room service, overnight oats at breakfast, games in the room and tourist information leaflets, along with lots of other thoughtful touches.

Nigel and Sharon, and their children and dog Obi, made us feel so welcome during our week at The Royson Guest House on a residential school trip. After busy days full of activities, we'd come back to hot chocolate each night, which warmed us up. Sharon also kept us up to date with the weather, which we appreciated. The dinners were delicious, and the wholesome breakfasts kept us well fed. Make sure you try their Mediterranean rice dish. Thanks for all your kindness. We look forward to coming back next year.

The rooms were better than we expected. Our family room had a lovely sea view, and came with tea and coffee, little treats, a fridge, and an iron and ironing board. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the hosts kindly provided water bottles and refilled them when needed. There was a pool table in the breakfast and dining room, plus a playroom nearby for younger guests and teens. Borrowing beach towels, mats, buckets and spades was a lovely touch. The hosts were warm, friendly and attentive. We arrived earlier than expected, but they were accommodating and gave us our room keys. Breakfast was amazing, especially the crepes or pancakes and waffles, with a varied cooked selection as well as toast, cereal and other refreshments. Royson Guest House is on a peaceful residential street, with parking at the front and Shanklin beach nearby. We really enjoyed our stay, and there's plenty to do on The Isle of Wight. Needles is a must visit if you're going there.

The shower wasn't very powerful, which was our only issue. Otherwise, we were extremely happy and would definitely return. The hosts were fantastic, always cheery and friendly when we saw them around the property, and had lots of useful information to share. They made us feel very welcome. The rooms and the rest of the property were clean throughout, and we loved the decor. Breakfast was tasty, with plenty on offer. We’ve just come back from a lovely few days at this little B&B.
