Just got back from the Manor House Inn. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious, and there was a roaring fire. It’s the friendliest inn you’ll find. The quiz on the first Tuesday of each month is worth a visit on its own. Wish we lived closer so we could go all the time.

The full Northumbrian and fish and chips were excellent, and the prices were great. We had a lovely stay at The Manor House Inn, with welcoming staff and a great location. We’ll be back.
The Sunday lunch was honestly the best I’ve ever had. We came as a family for my sister’s birthday, and it was the nicest meal out we’d had in ages. The meat was cooked to perfection, and all the veg was gorgeous. The staff were friendly and attentive without being pushy. The pub was quaint, lovely and clean throughout. We’ll definitely be back.
The owners and staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. We had delicious black pudding to start and a takeaway burger. We’d booked a Sunday roast, but the government alert went off and the power went out, so they made us lamb and beef cobs to take back to the camper instead. Thanks so much, we’ll definitely be back.
The food alone would bring me back. I started with the black pudding salad, a brilliant mix of bacon, a runny egg, gently spiced black pudding, balsamic and baby spinach. It was so good I could have had it as a main. The local sausages that followed were just right, and lunch earlier had been delicious too, especially the thick, full-flavoured vegetable soup. Service stayed friendly and efficient without feeling put on, and the cask ale was kept beautifully. I first stopped in for lunch while figuring out where to spend an impromptu weekend. Then I spotted the campsite next door, exactly what I wanted for camping and fishing at the reservoir. After a long walk in the countryside, I came back to the pub for a pint and dinner. I hadn't heard of the place before, but I'd gladly make a long detour to eat here again. Well done!
