The owner's friendly and helpful, and I felt safe walking back at night. The house is right in the middle of Shrewsbury, in an old building with a funky layout and creaky footsteps. I loved that character, and the renovations haven't taken away the old feel. I was hoping for more black and white wooden features inside, but still really liked the place. Our room was nicely decorated, with a comfy bed that helped me sleep well. The shared bathroom was clean and lovely, and I didn't mind the low ceiling, it's part of what makes an older house feel special, much nicer than a plain beige hotel room. Our room wasn't even one of the ensuite or pricier options. I'd definitely recommend visiting.

The building has a lovely atmosphere and is really interesting, especially the amazing bay window. The location is superb, the room was clean and nice, and the hostess was very helpful. The bed was comfortable, though I dislike having a top sheet with a duvet. The toiletries were lovely and there was a good choice of TV channels. The shower was hard to get into for someone larger than average. You can bring food for breakfast and use the downstairs kitchen if needed. Very recommend.
