The breakfast was an absolute delight. The service was excellent, and you could really taste the love and care that went into the food. Our room was clean and nicely appointed, and excellent value for money. The pub has a lovely community feel, and we got a warm greeting when we arrived. Noise was low, other guests were respectful, and the only very minor thing was that the areas leading up to the rooms could be kept clearer and better maintained. A lovely experience and really good value.

Very disappointed during a Saturday birthday celebration with friends. One of the women said her half-pint of lager tasted funny, though we weren’t sure whether it was the drink or the glass. The landlady told her she wouldn’t change it, so my friend said she couldn’t drink it and handed it back. We didn’t buy another round. In all my years going to pubs, I’ve never come across behaviour so unprofessional and ungracious. Not the right way to treat people!

The staff were really friendly, and our lunch was lovely and came out quickly. The chips were especially good. We dropped in on a Saturday and found plenty of tables. It’s much bigger inside than it looks from the outside.

The place was buzzing, what a cracking atmosphere. We had a great evening last Saturday watching the live music The Nuts, and it was the best night out we’d had in a long time with our good friends. We stayed overnight in our motorhome at Frankwell carpark, so it was a quick walk back at the end of the night. Definitely coming to The Bull next time we’re in Shrewsbury.

We quickly finished our drinks and left without ordering food. Another waitress came outside and sneered at us, and someone else sitting out there said one of the girls can be very sharp. Earlier, after driving from stoke to Shrewsbury and deciding to stop for lunch, my husband and I, both 62, ordered drinks at the bar before looking at the menus. The server was abrupt and just asked, “cash or card?” My husband said it depended on how much it was, and told him he was being a bit sharp. The server replied that it was his accent and if we didn’t like it, we should drink somewhere else. How rude. I wouldn’t rate the customer service and don’t think we’d go to Shrewsbury again.
