Everything was easy to reach on foot from this fantastic central spot in Shrewsbury. It turned out to be a lovely little gem, with excellent breakfast served with a genuine smile. I'd happily stay again.

We got two decent sized meals for £20, with no frills. I had the Fish and Chips and my wife ordered the Mushroom and peppers Stroganoff. We stopped in for an early evening meal while visiting Shrewsbury. It was 5pm on Monday and we were the only diners at first, though others came in as we were leaving.

Olde worlde style, just how we like it. We walked in and ordered Sunday lunch, even though it was Monday. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and dogs are welcome in the bar area. Lunch was £10, plus beers.

We ate in the bar one evening and had good pub grub at a reasonable price, plus good beer. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had plenty to eat: cooked food, cereal, yoghurt, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee, all good quality. The room was clean, a decent size and nicely decorated with good furniture. The Old Post Office sits back from the street in a small yard, so it stays quiet for an urban stay. It's very central for town, though there's no on-site parking. The nearby NCP cost £8 a day on the app. All in all, a very good experience.

Food was out of this world and great value, and breakfast was spot on with impeccable service. The room was excellent, and the staff were friendly, helpful and around all day. Ellen and I had a lovely weekend. Thanks to Ed the manager and all the team for an outstanding visit. We'll be popping back soon 😀
