Copthorne Hotel Slough Windsor

The in-house Indian restaurant was the highlight for me. Its “Flavours of Thailand” menu was excellent, full of flavour and genuinely enjoyable. The regular menu was only average: my steak and chips was fine, but nothing special. Breakfast was average too, though it was nice to be able to order fresh poached eggs instead of relying only on the buffet. The bar is pricey, and the views are fairly ordinary. I’ve stayed here twice recently for work. On both visits, the staff were friendly, attentive and professional, which made a real difference. The hotel itself feels a little tired. The rooms are comfortable enough, but some areas need refreshing. It took me a few tries to get the shower working in my bathroom, which wasn’t great after a long day. The car park is dated and quite expensive for the overall condition. I left my room card out to indicate Do Not Disturb, but the room was fully cleaned and turned over anyway. I didn’t particularly mind, but it was surprising. The staff are doing a great job, and with some investment this tired, expensive hotel could be much stronger.

Our Club room was upgraded to a Suite, and we were able to check in early. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and great facilities. Breakfast had plenty of options, and we had a positive stay over the weekend with a friend. We’d come again. A couple of bottles of water in the club or suite rooms would be a nice extra, but that’s my only comment. The man at the desk, who I believe was called 'Ahmed', was polite, friendly and helpful. He gave us all the information we needed. Thanks Ahmed and team!

The staff were kind, inclusive and considerate, and our stay was comfortable. After a long journey we arrived early for check-in, exhausted and desperate for the toilet. The gentleman at reception kindly let us check in early, which was such a relief. Breakfast no longer has the pancakes it used to offer, which was disappointing. The shower could use some attention too, especially the tap-to-shower nozzle, which would be better if it switched more smoothly. Check-out was pleasant, and Simky at reception was incredibly friendly. Ahmed at the check-out counter went out of his way to arrange a room for us to pray in after we had already checked out and had nowhere to pray. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness. A good stay, and a few improvements could make it even better.

We stayed three nights for a wedding. The location worked well for it, and we managed to visit Cliveden and Windsor on our way home. Staff were very helpful and customer service was great. The room was fine, though it could have been cleaner, and the bathroom could use some attention and updating. We asked for herbal tea and decaf, but neither was available. We did enjoy a nice meal in the restaurant on Thursday night.
