Breakfast was great, with the buffet kept fresh and hot, and no dried bean mess on the serving counter. Bill, I think, was happy to make me poached eggs without rolling his eyes, which I’ve come to expect at some other stays. The waitress was lovely too, though I didn’t catch her name. I’ve worked for Whitbread for over 8 years and stayed at plenty of Premier Inns around the country. This one really stood out. The hotel felt exceptionally clean, and I liked seeing sanitiser bottles on every table. The food was better than I’m used to. My mixed grill meal deal came with an upgrade to Sirlion, cooked exactly as I’d ordered, and the other meat was hot and done just right. Thanks to Luke and David, I believe. A few things for the kids weren’t available, which I understand can happen with Whitbread and ordering, but Leah was wonderful with them. She felt bad about the missing items, and her care and service made up for it. The hotel manager was pitching in wherever needed, while still smiling and looking well presented. Thank you, Bridgewater. You’re in a league of your own. See you again soon.

Mia was spot on in the restaurant, with lovely, cheerful service. The food was excellent for the price. The hotel was wonderful too, with spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, and a great shower.

Mia in the restaurant was especially welcoming and helpful, and really went out of her way for us. All the staff were friendly. I was here on a business trip, and the location worked perfectly. The room was comfortable and very clean. They’re renovating parts of the hotel at the moment, but everywhere was still clean despite the work.

The bar service was shambolic. The two staff members behind it seemed lost with both customer service and the till. They did try, but it was still the worst service I’ve had at a Premier Inn restaurant. The sign says food is served until ten, yet when I tried to order a drink at quarter to, it was shut because the staff couldn’t be bothered. Honestly, book another hotel.

Avoid this place if you can. I woke up feeling ill and found the heaters weren’t working. It was dirty and smelled of mildew, with mould too. When I asked to move rooms, they said the hotel was full and offered me a wet wipe for the marks on the furniture.
