Leonardo Hotel Southampton

I spent nearly three weeks at the Leonardo Hotel Southampton and had a very positive stay. The rooms were comfortable and worked well for a longer visit. If you can request a high floor facing the park, the view is calming and refreshing after a long day. Housekeeping was the main snag: a few times the room wasn't serviced until 4:00-7:00 p.m., even though I'd been out since before 11:00 a.m. They did come eventually, but that timing wasn't always ideal after a full day out. I ate in the restaurant several times and also stopped for drinks, sometimes both in one visit. The seasonal drinks menu was a highlight. The restaurant is on the pricey side, though that seemed fairly standard for Southampton from what I experienced. The curry was good, and although the portion was on the small side, it was one of the more affordable mains. Staff across the front desk and restaurant were generally pleasant, professional and welcoming. Lewis deserves a special mention: he was attentive, excellent at his job and consistently gave great service. The service, comfort and location make it a solid option for a longer stay.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast had plenty of choices for different tastes. It's a very good hotel in a good part of the city, with friendly staff and very good restaurant service. I had the misfortune of ordering rib eye, though, and the meat was so tough I couldn't chew it. I'll definitely come back, and highly recommend the hotel.

The staff were friendly, breakfast was okay, and the price was fair, so I haven't left a negative review. Parking is incredibly difficult in such a central location. The room felt a little tired, and even though I was staying alone, the sofa bed had been left set up as a bed because all the cushions were torn when it was in sofa position.

We needed somewhere convenient for an early hospital appointment at 07.30, and this hotel gave us a room that suited our specific requirements well. We got a friendly welcome at reception, and all the staff were friendly. Dinner was well prepared and we enjoyed it. I can't comment on breakfast because we checked out early. It was my first stay, but I'll definitely stay again.
