The gardens were such a lovely place to sit before dinner, and our little one could run around on the grass while I relaxed. I never felt I had to worry about his safety or being a nuisance, which meant a lot as a mum to a small whirlwind. Nigel made us feel welcome when we arrived and let us settle in the spacious lounge so our toddler could stretch his legs. Our Premium room was beautiful, with peaceful field views, a firm but comfy bed, a spotless en-suite and a super hot shower. Tea and coffee were complimentary, and there was cold water in the fridge downstairs. Dinner was delicious, and the caring staff looked after us well. The Pie & Chicken were wonderful, and the brownie and crumble were just as good. Portions were generous too. Thanks for being so accommodating, we’re already looking forward to another visit.

We enjoyed the hut so much that we added a third night. It was spotless, nicely presented, and much better than the photos suggested. The hot tub was perfect, and the hut itself was great. Nigel showed us around when we arrived, explained how everything worked, and suggested pubs and restaurants. He also went the extra mile for my birthday: my partner had arranged for him to decorate the hut with banners and balloons, which was a lovely surprise. We had an outstanding weekend and will definitely return. Friends have already seen our social media posts and asked us how to book. Thanks so much!

The views around the Beacon Hotel Shepherds Hut were beautiful, and the nearby beaches were only a 10-20 minute drive away, which was great for our dog to explore. We spent four lovely days in St Agnes. Nigel, the owner, greeted us warmly, showed us to the hut and explained the facilities. It was clean, cosy and modern, just like the photos, and we were impressed with everything inside as well as the hot tub outside. Thanks for such a relaxing stay. We’d happily recommend the Shepherds hut and the Beacon Hotel.

We’ve stayed at the Beacon three times now, once with the previous owners and twice with Nigel, Jayne and their team. It’s a family run hotel, and you can tell from how everyone goes above and beyond. The staff are obliging, friendly and happy to chat or offer advice about the area and Cornwall. Nothing feels like too much trouble, from arrival right through checkout. The service, rooms and food have all been excellent on our visits. It was a peaceful, lovely holiday, and we’ll be back. If I could give the hotel 100 stars, I would. Thank you all. Julie and Dave Aug 17-24/ 2024 Prem room 2

Breakfast was excellent, too. We had a super stay as a family and would be glad to come back. Our rooms were spacious and very clean, with really good beds. I’m a light sleeper and usually struggle in unfamiliar places, but I slept really well both nights. The views from the rooms were excellent. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. There’s a clean, comfortable lounge, a bright and immaculate dining room, and a very pleasant garden. This small hotel really knows how to look after people. I can’t fault it.
